Our founding story

In 2006, Paul Edelman, a New York City public school teacher, had a light bulb moment. He noticed that his students learned best when he incorporated teaching ideas from his colleagues. In that moment, Paul saw the potential impact that sharing the work and wisdom of teachers more widely could have on education at large. So he decided to build a website where educators everywhere could share their ideas and resources.
